Dr. Jo's experience in facial trauma and reconstructive surgery, as well as orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery, has made him an expert in facial and maxillofacial surgery.

Dr. Jo pursued further training in facial surgery and completed an accredited fellowship in Facial Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery under the proctorship of a well-establish facial cosmetic surgeon. During his fellowship, Dr. Jo performed numerous cosmetic procedures resulting in a natural, youthful appearance with stable results. He has extensively researched facial anatomy and facial cosmetic surgical procedures and has trained with what he feels are the most up to date and safe surgical techniques with optimal results. He also trained with minimally invasive techniques for facial rejuvenation and incorporates that training into his surgical repertoire.

In this day and age, Dr. Jo believes that facial cosmetic surgery is no longer a privilege that only the "rich and famous" enjoy or "superficial" people desire, but as people are living longer and feeling younger, their outward appearance should match their youthful spirits. Excess skin laxity of the eyelid, face and neck can cause significant unnecessary functional or emotional distress, which can be simply corrected with an outpatient procedure for facial rejuvenation. He always enjoys hearing "THANK YOU!" and getting a big hug from his patients at their first postoperative follow-up visit.

Dr. Jo also has the advantage of collaborating with Plastic Surgeons and other Facial Cosmetic Surgeons in his group, to treatment plan difficult cases. Most cosmetic procedures can be performed with the comfort of intravenous sedation or general anesthesia in the office setting. Occasionally, he will perform the surgery at our outpatient surgery center at St. Josephs. During the initial consultation, Dr. Jo listens carefully to his patient's needs and concerns, and he offers an honest opinion with realistic goals.

Dr. Jo performs cosmetic surgery of the face (facelift and minifacelift), neck (necklift and liposuction), forehead (endoscopic browlift), nose (rhinoplasty), protruding ears (otoplasty), facial skeleton (chin and cheek implants) and injectables (BOTOX® Cosmetic and Restalyne).
